On Friday, December 11, Central Valley students took to the courts against other Kern High continuation school students. The five continuation schools met at the Friendship House in Bakersfield for a basketball tournament and hot dog lunch. Central Valley sent six males and two females to represent on the courts under the coaching direction of Jordan Chaney, our senior basketball superstar who just happens to be on crutches. Mr. Rudy Gutierrez, our social studies teacher, was also present to help with coaching and logistics. Our players were: Juan Nava, Fernando Vasquez, Leslie Martinez, Bryan Arismendez, Araceli Mendez, Edy Montoya, Ulises Cortes, and Favian Trujillo.

With the team just forming days ago and little time to practice, a third place finish was very exciting for our team. Congratulations to Central Valley on their third place finish!! You played strong.
