Spring 2018 Academic Achievement Awards
On January 25, 2018 Central Valley High School Invited Parents to celebrate their student's achievements. A light breakfast was served as students listened to our Site Administrator Mr. Akey who delivered a welcoming speech. Mr. Akey reviewed our new R.I.M. program to recognize students who demonstrate three characteristics (Respect, Integrity, and Motivation). It is our goal to acknowledge and model positive behaviour inside and outside of the classroom. Another aspect of Mr. Akey's announcement involved news about the Central Valley campus facelift which will include two murals and three banners. We look forward to these upgrades as we continue to grow our identity as a school of respect, integrity, and motivation.
Mr. Akey and Mr. Johnson then presented awards to all students who earned all 25 credits receiving a 4.0 GPA.
Awards were then given by Mr. Johnson(English), Mr, Keller(Math), Ms. Wilson(Science), Mr. Rubio(Art), and Mrs. Gonsalez(Social Studies). Each teacher recognized one student for Outstanding Achievement, 3 Students for Academic Achievement, and one student who has turned a corner to a bright new path of positive achievement.
The ceremony was closed with a special thank you from Mr. Akey to our parents who are the most important part of our student success here at Central Valley High School. We are proud of our SCORPION family!
